Types of Dietary Fiber

There are two main types of dietary fiber:

  1. Soluble fiber: Dissolves in water and forms a gel-like substance, helping lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Examples: oats, apples, and beans.
  2. Insoluble fiber: Promotes healthy digestion by adding bulk to stool. Examples: whole grains, nuts, and green leafy vegetables.
